Samyang AF 12mm f/2 E Review Incredible Value!
Sony A6000 - Sigma 16mm F1.4 or Samyang 12mm F2.0 I am looking for a new lens to get better astrophotography images. I mainly want to shoot the milkyway and the nightsky in general. Now I've looked at many reviews of both lenses but I can't really decide which one to get.

Cedar Falls - Sony a6000 with Rokinon 12mm f/2.0. You'd be forgiven for thinking a lens with an extremely ambitious maximum aperture and a very wide 99 degree field of view would require some optical compromises. If you looked at the $399 price tag, which is very low for an ultra-wide lens, you'd think those compromises would likely be huge.

The Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 with and without the included lens hood. The lens is rather small for an ultra-wide-angle, especially so when considering the f/2.0 maximum aperture. In length and size it's roughly the size of the Fujifilm 14mm f/2.8, and notably smaller than the other 12mm lens available for mirrorless cameras: the Zeiss 12mm f/2.8.

Samyang 12mm f2.0 Samples with a6000 May 30, 2014. Tokina 16-28mm f2.8(said to be one of the sharpest wide lenses available to D800) and my Sony a6000, Samyang 12mm, with f2.8 and f5.6. Just blown away by the Samyang, note that the Tokina is downsized from 37mpix, so it has a bit of advantage on the sensor..

1. I just want to confirm that there is ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE between the Rokinon 12mm F2.0 and the Samyang 12mm F2.0. - Numerous forums suggest that there is only a subtle marketing difference, but no difference in quality 2. I have uploaded three photos for examples.

It's sharper at f/2.0 than the Zeiss at f/2.8, a real accomplishment. The Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 starts very sharp in the center wide-open, with good performance in the corners. Both lenses peak in.
